Day trip to Cape Schanck sea caves.
Glenn Baddeley
Weather permitting, we intend to visit all of the known horizontal sea caves near the cape. There will be two parties. One will take the boardwalk to the cape and veer off to visit GP8 (Angel cave) on one side and GP12 on the other. The second party will descend the cliff on the east side of the cape via a very steep bush bash to the rock platform at low tide (1pm), to attempt to visit a sequence of 11 short sea caves. This include GP23 (Barragundaa cave), where we will observe any bat presence. The caves are basalt, but most of them have speleothems due to the overlying limestone.
